This woven cotton blanket is a custom reproduction of a painted canvas completed in 2016. The specific media intentionally utilized evokes the ubiquitous serape blanket draped over car seats, covering trunk bottoms, and found on or around almost every Lowrider show car setup, bringing the predominantly Mexican heritage of the subculture into full view. Mass production of goods such as this with unique artwork also makes us ponder the life of ease and excess consumption in which we currently reside, as compared with earlier times when products such as this had to be hand made and thus carried greater significance.
