Characteristic features ten life-sized castings of toddler girls with various “imperfections” in their bodies (cracks, wrinkles, missing arm, mask, etc.) naturally resulting from the plaster casting process. By leaving these "imperfections" in the work, I am acknowledging thousands of Chinese children, mostly girls, who are given up by their families for adoption every year. As a single Chinese child myself, I wish to draw attention to the impact of China’s epic One-Child policy and its profound psychological effect on our societies.
