The idea for this painting was sparked by a thoughtful gift from my oldest son, a miniature desktop model of a majestic bald eagle. Affectionately known as “Mighty Eagle,” the model became my muse for this piece. Conceptual studies ranged from detailed facial sketches to full wingspan “attack” drawings. In the end, it was a single talon that captured my attention.
